We think that this colourful robin picture would make a great Christmas card. We watched him through the kitchen window whilst we ate our lunch - just glad that we were wrapped up warm! We also spotted a nuthatch and some blue tits trying to sneak behind the blackbird who has taken up residence on the bird table.
The sheep at Cotefield Farm were pleased to see us as we headed along the footpath to our favourite sledging spot. Hardly anyone else about, but we did meet a hardy chap on cross-county skis!
No sunshine today, but the valley still looks magical. The valley is absolutely silent; the only sounds you can hear are the sounds of your own breathing and the occasional sheep bleeting.
Saturday afternoon spent sledging until dark - had the whole slope to ourselves, followed by tea and toast (oh yes, and the odd chocolate biscuit!), before snuggling up in front of the fire and watching a film - and we aren't even on holiday.
