Old Hall Inn Chinley

Our guests often ask us where to eat.  The quality of pubs in the area varies, but here are some of our favourites:
The Cheshire Cheese in Hope is generally very good, as is The Plough in Hathersage, but we've recently discovered The Old Hall Inn in Chinley.  With good food at reasonable prices this inn has been recommended by Alastair Sawday, as well as having won many awards. There are good guest beers to choose from. The food isn't gastro pub food - it's old-fashioned British cooking with generous portions. Be sure to book and to ask for a table in the Minstrels Gallery, as this pub is very popular amongst the locals, and hasn't yet been discovered by the wider world!
